“Your patience and positivity is just what I needed in a driving instructor. I have thoroughly enjoyed our lessons together, and because of you I have a new-found confidence in myself.” Katie

- a Grade A, DVSA Approved Driving Instructor for nine years;
- a former primary school teacher with over twenty years’ experience in education and learning;
- currently teaching manual transmission but switching to an electric/automatic in April 2026, find out more below;
- working independently with learner drivers of all ages from Easingwold and the villages north of York;
- teaching pupils to drive safely and competently, not just to pass a test.
I can offer you…
- Grade A tuition… “providing a high level of instruction to pupils” (DVSA Jan 18);
- a friendly and patient approach tailored to individual needs;
- full door-to-door pick-up and drop off, or collection from an agreed meeting point if you live outside my collection areas;
- an exceptionally high first-time pass rate;
- the competitive price of £80 per two hour lesson, and
- a promise to work to the following principle…
Learning to drive is not just about learning to pass a test; it is about becoming a safe driver for the rest of your life.
Does this philosophy fit with how you think about learning to drive? If so, give me a call on 07747 151274. I work between the hours of 9am and 3.30pm, Monday to Thursday. Please note that I only use York Test Centre.
I look forward to meeting you. In the meantime, read the newsflashes below as well as clicking here to read a few Pupil Reviews.

Remember… The point of taking driving lessons isn’t just to pass a test.

ORDIT TRAINER REVIEW…October 2021– I have recently received this lovely review of my work from Andrew De Giorgio, (known as Deej), an ORDIT Driving Instructor Trainer, a Grade A ADI and Advanced Driver (RoSPA). I always highly recommend having a mock test with Deej, the experience is extremely valuable.
“With 13 years’ experience of training drivers and instructors, and after assessing your work through all your clients that have come to me for their mock tests, the verdict is in Anne… Your work is outstanding. If I wasn’t going to teach them myself, I would ask you to teach my sons; that’s how good you are!” Deej https://dgdrivertraining.com/
24th September 2019 – York Test Centre has moved…
The York driving test centre on Murton Way has relocated to Arabesque House on Monks Cross Drive. The first day of testing at Arabesque House was Tuesday 29 October 2019. All tests will now be conducted at the new site.
4th September 2019 – The DVSA announced plans to mark driving tests electronically, using a tablet in the car rather than using a paper marking form. Examiners conduct the test in exactly the same way as with the current paper form but record it electronically on an app. The official roll-out is now under-way.
10th January 2018 – Today was my Standards Check assessment and I am thrilled to announce that I was awarded a GRADE A by the DVSA examiner, which means I am “providing an overall high level of instruction” to my pupils.
